Немец Пауль Калькбреннер (Paul Kalkbrenner) выпустит третий (и последний) микс своей серии «Back to the Future», которую можно считать музыкальным рассказом берлинской техно-истории. И его сборники это нечто большее, чем просто микстейпы: это коллекции, в которые вошли более 60 треков, отражающих расцвет техно в Берлине с 1987 по 1993 годы.
По словам самого Калькбреннера, будучи подростком, он слушал восточно-берлинскую радиостанцию DB 64, которая оказала решающее влияние на его любовь к техно-музыке. Он составил плейлист из 5 тыс. треков на YouTube, и затем пошагово сокращал его, пока не получил список из 67 записей, «которые слишком хороши, чтобы их забыть».
Помимо стандартных названий треков, исполнителей и версий, в треклисте миксов присутствуют также год издания и страна происхождения, так что по ним можно проследить музыка из каких стран в какое время оказывала влияние на звучание немецкой столицы.
